The Wine Advocate:

The single-vineyard 2021 Acediano was produced with the Tempranillo grapes from a one-hectare vineyard on a south-facing slope on two different soils (chalk and sand) in Nava de Roa bordering Valdezate that was planted in 1965 with the old strain of Tinto Fino. The grapes from the two plots (one warmer and another one cooler) fermented separately, destemmed, with indigenous yeasts in 2,000-liter vats, and it matured in used 500-liter barrels for 15 months. First of all, they want to produce a wine that they like, and they like the style from yesteryear, easy to reproduce with a vineyard from yesteryear, but not with any grapes... The wine is characterful and has ripeness and an earthy touch, with a medium to full-bodied palate and some dusty tannins. It should benefit from spending more time in bottle. It's ripe without excess (14.3% alcohol) and has good freshness reflected by a pH of 3.47. 3,100 bottles were filled in April 2023.
