The Wine Advocate:

The top of the range is the 2019 Selecció Especial Vinyes Velles—the names are not really self-explanatory—which is pure Cariñena from centenary vines on a "coster" (slope) of llicorella slate in the village of Porrera. It matured in 225-liter French oak barrels for 19 months. It's not a shy wine, as it comes in at 14.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.37 and 5.81 grams of acidity. This is only Cariñena, and the profile is darker and earthier, with a little more of everything—a darker color, a deeper nose, darker fruit and more graphite. It's full-bodied but incredibly balanced, textured, with depth and layers, nuances and very fine tannins. It's a powerful wine for the long haul that is approachable already. 4,897 bottles and 150 magnums were filled in August 2021. - Luis Gutiérrez.

James Suckling:

Impressively complex and deep nose with fine roasted spices, tar, lard, cigar box and plenty of mossy black cherries, wild strawberries and blackberries. Concentrated but nothing hefty here, with a barely medium- to full-bodied palate and a very flavorful and succulent finish. Lasting a minute. Drink or hold.

Tim Atkin:

Still young as it enters it's 5th year, but starting to express itself; old vine, varietal Carignan aged in largely new, French oak for 18 months. Ripe, powerful and very persistent. Ripe blueberry and blackberry fruits, liquorice, smoke and garrigue on the nose, leading to refreshing acidity over structured, firm tannins. Long and tapered on the finish, with a touch of crushed rock as a final point. 2024-2034
