"The 2006 Mauro V.S. (Vendimia Seleccionada) is 100% Tempranillo that makes a giant step up in richness compared to the Mauro cuvee. It also displays notable freshness which Garcia attributes to the significant temperature variance between daytime and nighttime. It exhibits a jammy confiture of black fruits in an opulent, liqueur-like frame. It will easily evolve for another 6-8 years and see its 20th birthday in fine form.
Bodegas Mauro is owned and operated by renowned vigneron Mariano Garcia. The estate is located just outside the border of Ribera del Duero so that it must carry the generic DO of Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y Leon."
