"I was quite surprised to read about a Moscatel ice wine and was looking forward to tasting it, but it turned out to be the same 2007 Moscatel Vendimia Tardía I had already tasted some time ago. The grapes were picked quite late, but it's not clear if they were frozen at the time of picking, so the reference to ice wine is certainly misleading. It fermented in barrel and aged in new barriques for 15 months. It has 14.5% alcohol and it retained 143 grams of unfermented sugar. It's now quite evolved, with balsamic aromas reminiscent of bay leaves and the classical Moscatel notes of orange peel and blossom, plus the honeyed character of the late harvested sweet wines. It keeps good balance between freshness and sweetness, but I believe it's time to drink up. 1,100 bottles produced".
