The Wine Advocate:

The first sweet wine they produced in 1996 has been re-released now as the 1996 Valor de Olivares, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of that groundbreaking wine. At the time, the Jumilla appellation didn't approve sweet wines, and it was not until 1998 that the style was included in the appellation. This was put in 1,440- and 1,600-liter old oak casks and matured for 25 years. It's in the style of a Fondillón, and it does have that character and profile, the oxidative and nutty side, the dark chocolate notes, the sweet and rustic twist and a touch of iodine. It's round, velvety and quite sweet, with close to 200 grams of sugar. 5,000 half-liter bottles were produced. It was bottled in August 2022.
