The Wine Advocate:

I was really impressed by the NV Palo Cortado, the freshest of this range, which are very competitive and very good for food. It's a Palo Cortado that comes from the Maruja youngest butts (casks) that show a creamier character and have had maybe one or two years of biological aging under flor, and then are fortified to 17.5% alcohol. The bottled wine has around 12 years of age. I found the nose extremely fresh and focused, sharp from the beginning. This is a textbook example of young-ish Palo Cortado at an incredible price. The wines are bottled once or twice per year, and the lot has two digits for the year, two digits for the week and one for the day within the week, so the bottle I tasted L16052 was bottled on the Tuesday of week five of 2016. 2,000 bottles per year. - Luis Gutiérrez.
