Versos de Valtuille Mencía 2021

The 2021 Versos de Valtuille is the only wine that remains in the portfolio after the change. It's a representation of the old vines from Valtuille, selecting grapes from 12 different parajes or lieux-dits. It's mostly Mencía, fermented in stainless steel and matured in 7,500-liter French oak vats for nine months. This is aromatic, floral, expressive, elegant and open, quite primary, clean and fresh, a little like a Ribeira Sacra, beyond the price point here. It's medium-bodied, balanced and elegant. Bravo! 40,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2022. - Luis Gutiérrez.
